While many events on school calendars were canceled this year Book Week (October 17 to October 23) made the cut!

The literary celebration has been shared in schools and childcare centres across the nation this week with the theme chosen by the Children’s Book Council Australia of “Curious Creatures, Wild Minds”.

In what’s been a very strange year, the simple joy of dressing as a favourite book character has been bringing joy to Aussie kids, and you can see it clearly on the famous faces of the celebrity kids we’ve shared in the gallery below …

Celebrity dad Hamish Blake made an early run for the LOLS on Wednesday when he shared an image of himself recreating the cover of wife Zoe Foster Blake’s book, Back to Sleep.

The 38yo comedian captioned the image which shows him in bed, sucking his thumb while adorned with Texta-drawn tattoos: “Tomorrow we hav to go to skool as our favorit book character. I am going as the dad from Back to Sleep. He has a beerd. So do I. I love that book. It is widely availabul rite now. Zoe Foster Blake is very funny. The dad is a bit hopeless in the book but apparentli Zoe sed it’s just ficshun wich meens the real life dad guy she lives with must be very capable and cool wich is good to heer 👍. The end. 40yo Zoe was quick to reply: “A for costume, A+ for taste in books, A+++++ for Wife Supportery, D- for tattoos!”
