Cheat’s Nutella Fondant

Serves 4

  • 60g butter
  • 200g dark chocolate, broken into squares
  • 4 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup (60g) ground hazelnuts
  • Ice Cream or cream to serve

You’ll want to marry your SMEG mixer after tasting this beauty!


  1. Set the oven to fan forced and preheat to 170⁰C. Lightly grease four small ramekins or other ovenproof dishes with butter.
  2. Using a microwave safe bowl, melt butter and 100g chocolate at 50 percent power for 2 minutes. Stir until melted. Set aside to cool.
  3. Add sugar and eggs to the chocolate mixture and whisk until smooth. Fold through ground hazelnuts. Spoon mixture into prepared dishes.
  4. Divide remaining 100g chocolate into four pieces. Push one piece into each pudding, pressing to cover.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes until just set. Serve with cream or ice-cream.
