RECALL UPDATE: More products added to the Kinder Surprise and chocolates recall
There's a risk of salmonella poisoning
Popular chocolates and Easter treats – Kinder Surprise and Kinder Easter chocolates – have been recalled by Manufacturer Ferrero Australia due to the risk of salmonella poisoning.
Additional chocolates were added to the original list and includes items from Christmas 2021.

The original list of products – Kinder Easter Basket 120g (6x20g), Kinder Mini Eggs Hazelnut 100g, Kinder Surprise Maxi 100g and Kinder Surprise Maxi – Natoons 100g – have been pulled from shelves.
Customers have been not to consume the treats as products have been contaminated by salmonella and could cause vomiting.
The Kinder Surprise Easter Basket comes wrapped in yellow foil paper with Best Before Dates between October 7 and November 20 2022.
The Kinder Mini Eggs Hazelnut and Kinder Surprise Maxi products both in 100g have Best Before Dates between August 23 and September 13 2022.
Kinder Surprise and Easter treats have been recalled from sale.
Food Standards Australia and New Zealand said the affected chocolates are made in Belgium.
This means the Italian-produced “Kinder Surprise 20g single and three-pack eggs in white, blue and pink varieties sold in Australia are not affected.”
Products can be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund.
