Meet the ‘Encanto’ voice cast stars responsible for bringing the Madrigal family to life
There's a little magic in all of them.
There’s no two ways about it, Disney’s Encanto soundtrack has been in the air as much as COVID has in 2022! If you’ve managed to get through a day with out singing about Bruno, you’re one of the lucky ones.
With a killer soundtrack and characters that make an imprint on your heart, Encanto has the magic formula that launched it immediately into pop culture stardom in a way that only a Disney classic can. (If you haven’t watched it yet, you can view it on Disney+.)
So, who are the voices behind the magic of the Madrigal family? We take a look at the stars who made it all a reality below.
What is Encanto all about?
Disney’s new 2021 animated movie Encanto tells the tale of the Madrigal family, who live in an enchanted town in the mountains of Colombia.
Every child but one in their magical house (yes, the house itself is alive!) has been granted a unique ability such as strength or the power to heal. Mirabel, the only ordinary child, discovers this magic is under threat and she may be the only one to save it, despite not being blessed with special powers.
Colourful, magical and with a killer soundtrack that is sure to get stuck in your head, Encanto is the buzz word of 2022 so far.

The stars who voice the Encanto movie …
Mirabel: Stephanie Beatriz
It’s a big jump from cheeky comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Detective Rosa Diaz to Mirabel, the protagonist of Casa Madrigal, but Stephanie Beatriz made it work, big time!
Abuela Alma: Maria Cecilia Botero
A native Colombian famous for many television roles, Maria Cecilia Botero was the natural choice for Encanto’s matriarch.
Bruno: John Leguizamo
Mum and Dad might remember him from Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge!, but the kids will know him best as Luigi from Super Mario Bros. From now on we’re all going to remember John Leguizamo as that guy who we don’t talk about. …
Julieta: Angie Cepeda
Colombian native, Angie Cepeda took on the role of Mirabel’s mother, Julieta, and had us all wishing that she lived with us to make her magic food whenever we need it!
Agustín: Wilmer Valderrama
We all fell in love with Wilmer Valderrama as Fez in the sitcom That ’70s Show, but Encanto is not his first time at voicing an animation. Anyone remember Handy Manny? That was him too!
Pepa: Carolina Gaitán
Narcos star, Carolina Gaitán is no stranger to musical roles.
She has also worked on several musicals at Colombia’s National Theater and has lent her voice for many TV theme songs in her native Colombia.
Isabella: Diane Guerrero
You may have come across this beauty in her roles as inmate, Maritza Ramos on the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black and Lina on Jane the Virgin.
Luisa: Jessica Darrow
Playing the super strong Luisa is a breakout role for Cuban-American actress and singer, Jessica Darrow who is a well-known personality from Miami.
Felix: Mauro Castillo
Colombian Salsa artist, Mauro Castillo plays the irresistible Felix Madrigal and you have to admit, looks remarkably like his character IRL!
Dolores: Adassa
Bilingual Afro-Latino voice actress, singer and songwriter, Adassa’s four-octave vocal range has seen her work with Pitbull, Flo Rida, Snoop Dogg, Daddy Yankee, Ciara, Missy Elliott, and Luis Fonsi and more!
Camilo: Rhenzy Feliz
This 24-year-old Dominican star is best known for playing the role of Alex Wilder in the Hulu original series Marvel’s Runaways.
Antonio: Ravi-Cabot Conyers
As adorable IRL as his on screen role, 11 year-old Ravi-Cabot Conyers is no stranger to the stage already, acting as a series regular in the (2020) single-cam Netflix comedy, #blackAF.
