A new mum has been mocked online for the unique name she chose for her newborn son.

Claire Edwards, a 30-year-old influencer from Arkansas who goes by the handle @theclairenecessities on TikTok and Instagram, introduced her baby boy to her followers as Oak Wilson.

Mum-of-two reveals her favourite baby names

“If Oak had been born a girl, his name would probably be Sunday,” Claire told her followers.

“I know some other influencers have used it recently, but that’s not a good enough reason to not use a name.”

Claire went on to reveal that she also liked Arbor and if Oak was a girl, her name may have been Sunday Arbor.

“Pepper. Oh, Pepper was up there,” she continued, reeling off her favourite names. “Think of the nickname Pepperoncini when they’re a baby.”

She added: “I love Kit solely for the nickname Kit Kat. About Time is our favourite movie and it’s the sister’s name and we just love it.”

Claire and her husband, Gray only had two other names on their boy list, Fox and Penn.

Claire says she liked Fox because it’s an easy one to understand, shared the example that Gray’s name is often misunderstood to be Craig.

“He might have to repeat his name some, but I just loved Oak so much,” she explained of her final name choice.

“The other boy contender was Penn. I just think it’s cool – Penn Edwards.”

The mum-of-two said she let her husband believe Fern was in the running for a girl’s name and shared two girls names she adores are Ruby and Margot.

“Oh my goodness, I really wish Margot wasn’t so popular right now; I’m still considering it.”
