Red Wiggle Caterina Mete is celebrating a major milestone – her twin daughters just turned one!
In a heartwarming Instagram post, Caterina marked the occasion with a beautiful video montage and an emotional birthday message for her girls, Dolly and Gigi.
It’s been a big year for the beloved children’s entertainer, who welcomed her daughters in July 2024 following a long and challenging IVF journey. Now, 12 months on, Caterina is reflecting on a year of firsts – and the overwhelming love that comes with parenting twins.
“Happy 1st Birthday to my precious twins! 🎈❤️,” Caterina shared to Instagram.
“One year ago, my life changed forever as I welcomed two beautiful souls into my family. Watching you both grow and discover the world together has been the most incredible journey. From your first smiles to those adorable giggles, every moment has filled my heart with so much joy and love.”
She continued: “Thank you for the endless snuggles, the little adventures, and the countless memories we’ve made this past year. Here’s to many more years of laughter, growth, and unforgettable moments together! Happy Birthday, my sweet little Dolly and Gigi! 🎂👶👶”
The touching caption, paired with never-before-seen clips of her girls, offered fans a rare glimpse into Caterina’s life away from the stage and the joy that motherhood has brought her.
The Wiggles meet Dolly Parton
Shortly after celebrating the first birthday of her IVF miracle twins, The Wiggles’ Caterina Mete had a truly unforgettable moment — meeting her idol, Dolly Parton.
“We met the Queen of Country and my idol @dollyparton ❤️❤️❤️”: Sharing sweet snaps to Instagram, Caterina called the experience “surreal,” saying Dolly was “so kind and had the warmest energy.” She added that she felt incredibly lucky to have had her tattoo signed by the music icon, and for her twins, Dolly and Gigi, to meet the woman one of them was named after.
As Caterina revealed, there was a sweet coincidence too: “Also fun fact Gigi is the name Dolly’s nieces and nephews call her!!! I seriously did not know that when I picked Gigi’s name 🫶.”
The Wiggles also posted about the meeting, describing it as “a moment we’ll never forget!” After collaborating remotely on their upbeat track Friends!, the group finally met Dolly in person during a visit to Nashville. They shared adorable photos of Dolly cuddling Caterina’s twin girls and signing her tattoo.
In a behind-the-scenes reel, the group reflected on the joy of meeting their musical hero. “Meeting Dolly in Nashville felt like a big warm hug,” they wrote. “Her kindness, joy, and sparkle are everything we imagined and more.”
Caterina’s challenging IVF journey
Caterina, 44, first shared her pregnancy news back in February 2024, crediting an anonymous donor and a “challenging IVF journey” that began with egg-freezing at age 37.
“I am immensely grateful for the incredible team at my fertility clinic and the technology that has made this possible,” she told fans on The Wiggles YouTube channel. “Becoming a mother has always been a dream of mine.”
Her candid reflections on Stellar’s ‘Something To Talk About’ podcast revealed just how gruelling the process was – seven eggs collected in her first round, then just one and two in subsequent years, all while touring and filming during COVID.
The silver lining? “I think I’m ready to have children,” she realised, and the rest is a beautifully busy blur.
When the soon-to-be mother – Kitty to her friends – announced her pregnancy, she shared a video on The Wiggles’ official YouTube channel, revealing it was made possible thanks to an anonymous donor provided by her fertility clinic.
“I am immensely grateful for the incredible team at my fertility clinic and the technology that has made this possible,” she said.
“Becoming a mother has always been a dream of mine. I feel overwhelmingly blessed to share that I am expecting two beautiful little miracles.
“This journey has been challenging but filled with so much love and support.
“I can’t wait to meet my twin girls and embark on this exciting new chapter of my life. I’d also like to thank everyone at The Wiggles for their unwavering support.”
Caterina also shared the news on Instagram, captioning the post, “I’m so excited for the adventure ahead, and I can’t wait to be a mum.”
“I look forward to sharing more with you as I continue on this incredible journey.”
The Wiggles were “overjoyed” for Caterina and said: “We are filled with pride as we prepare to welcome two new beautiful members to The Wiggles’ family.”
