Co-parenting can sometimes be tricky at the best of times but throw in a global pandemic and there is an additional layer of potential challenges to work through.

Somone who is experiencing these challenges is former One Direction star Liam Payne who is co-parenting his three-year-old son with former partner, Cherly Cole in the UK.

During an Instagram Live, the 27-year-old said that seeing his son Bear Grey has been “complicated” due to the pandemic.

“I went and saw Bear today. We had a little hangout which was quite nice as I hadn’t seen him in a couple of weeks,” Liam explained.

The singer, who separated from Cheryl in  July 2018, said he takes a Covid test before seeing his son, even though Bear just lives up the street with his mum.

“It’s hard with the Covid thing as I have to make sure I’m negative before I go over and see him so it’s having to wait that couple of days before you can test so… he’s only up the street and it’s dead complicated but he’s gotten so big, huge,” he added.

Liam Payne and Cherly Cole welcomed son Bear in 2017.

The former One Direction member, who is now engaged to model, Maya Henry, told People last month how he has loved watching his son grow up.

“It’s been a difficult ride, but it’s fantastic watching him grow into the person he’s become. He’s a really lovely boy and I feel like he’s in the middle of settling into himself,” he said.

“He looks exactly like me, which is very strange. When family members see baby pictures of me now, they say, ‘Oh wow, Bear looks really great there!'”
