Hilaria Baldwin’s family shares the sweetest gender reveal of baby number 7
"I want to do it a bit differently this time around."
Thirty-eight-year-old Hilaria Baldwin recently shared the sweetest gender reveal of her seventh child with 63-year-old husband Alec Baldwin.
In an extended post on Instagram, the mum-to-be said “It’s always been both fun and meaningful for me to find out what is the sex of my baby, yet, as I grow and learn, I want to do it a bit differently this time around.”
And she does, and she nails it. No plane flying overhead with a coloured vapour trail, no superyacht on the harbour or cut cake reveal, but the most adorable video of her family talking as if directly to their unborn sibling – a sister.
Alec is up first, saying “One characteristic doesn’t define you.” Next is the couple’s eldest child, Carmen who says “You are a complicated and multifaced human”.
The cute family takes it in turn add words or phrases to the video as they colour-in or play with toys, and the parents add their special messages for their baby, too. Sweet little Romeo says that “Labels are lazy”, while Rafael – who is sporting a broken arm from an accident in the park – says “Inspire hope in others” while Leonardo adds “Don’t be simplified!”

The two youngest children Eduaro and Maria Lucia aren’t left out and can be seen toddling hand in hand through the video, and the family continues their gorgeous messages before talking directly to the sister and daughter at the end.
“We can only guide, encourage their spirit, listen, share our experiences, and learn from them, as we watch their own journey,” continues Hilaria in the post. “I share with you our family’s hopes and wishes, encouragement and advice for our new baby. I feel so much joy, watching these children, who are filled with love and the most simple, kind wisdom. Hearing them share their words is one of my greatest gifts in life.

Hilaria recently shared this throwback to when she was pregnant with Leo, throwing Carmen and Rafa into the air.
Announcing the “huge surprise” of the pregnancy on March 30, 2022, Hilaria took to Instagram to reveal the news and share a gorgeous video of the couple telling their six children that there were going to have another sibling.
The yoga teacher – who has posted candidly to social media since the media backlash against her misrepresenting her cultural roots – had taken a three-week break from Instagram, so her followers were delighted when she returned with such an exciting update!
“We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re beyond happy with this surprise,” she posted. “I’m sharing with you the moment we told the kids – as you can see, they are super excited!”

The announcement came just five months after Alec’s fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the Rust movie set, which Hilaria alluded to in her Instagram caption. She referred to the pregnancy as “bright spot in their lives”.
Hilaria and Alec married in June 2012, and have six gorgeous children: Carmen (8), Rafael (6), Leonardo (5), Romeo (3), Eduardo ‘Edu’ (18 months) and Maria Lucia ‘Marilu’ (13 months).
While this is her seventh pregnancy, Hilaria has given birth to five children and suffered two devastating miscarriages in 2019, before the birth to Edu.
At first the entrepreneur refused to talk about why they welcomed Marilu via surrogate so soon after the birth of Edu, although she later said she had promised their children a baby sister – having lost a daughter during her fourth month of pregnancy.
“Our hearts are filled with so much gratitude. The Baldwinitos craved so much to have a little sister,” she posted on Instagram. “Many of you may remember the loss of their sister at 4 months in the end of 2019. There isn’t a day that goes by where we don’t ache for our daughter. When I found out our baby had died, I told our children that their sister was going to come, just not at that time.”
Hilaria wrapped up her announcement by saying “I’ve missed you during my break from social media…I’m back and looking forward to continuing with you this wild journey that we call “life.” Our love to you and your loved ones ❤️”

At five months pregnant with their seventh child together, Hilaria and Alec shared their 10th wedding anniversary, with a cute picture and a loving caption:

Delighted with her growing baby tummy, the pregnany mum shared a super sweet snap of her unborn daughter ‘waving’!

The mum-of-six posed a New Year’s photo with an extended caption about 2022 being “flawless” and how kindness is the way forward.
If you look at the spaghetti sauce carefully, it says “I’m getting another sibling” the proud dad posted.
Before taking a break from social media, Hilaria posted: We’ve been through a lot together ❤️” to which Alec replied: “I only know that whenever I feel that God has forgotten me, I think that he brought you into my life. The greatest gift, along with my children, I have ever received.”
“I told them if they wanted cake they’d either have to look at the camera or stare lovingly at me. Marilu chose the camera…Alec doesn’t get cake. Here is to 38. Love you all 🤍” Hilaria posts frequently to social media with candid snaps and videos of their home life but sometime you have to pose!
