David Schwimmer’s ex-wife gives their nine-year-old daughter Cleo a buzz cut – and she rocks it!
Her mum shared a heartfelt tribute to her daughter.
Friends star David Schwimmer’s daughter is boldly rocking a new buzz cut and she looks stunning.
Cleo is the only child for exes David, 53, and Engish artist, Zoe Buckman. The couple married and welcomed Cleo in May 2011. The two split in 2017 but have remained friends and co-parent together in New York.
“It is with great love, respect and friendship that we have decided to take some time apart while we determine the future of our relationship,” David and Zoe said in a statement at the time.
Following nine-year-old Cleo’s decision to ditch her long brown locks, her mama made it possible and took to her daughter’s head with the shearers.
Taking to Instagram to share photos of Cleo’s new look, Zoe wrote a powerful tribute to her daughter:
“The world is saying ‘[burn] it down and rebuild’ and the babies are listening. I see how kids today challenge norms and standards in a way that we didn’t, and that, amongst other things, gives me hope! One [love].”
Cleo seems pretty happy with her new buzz cut.
Although Zoe and David are no longer together, the pair have remained close. A couple of weeks ago they joined one of the many Black Lives Matter protests in New York.
David shared a powerful image to Instagram of himself and his ex wearing face masks with their arms around each other. David was holding white flowers while Zoe held a bunch pink flowers.
“Yesterday at the Protest & Vigil, downtown NY. We’re no longer a couple, but @zoebuckman and I are parents of a nine year old, and fellow advocates for social justice and reform,” David captioned the image.
“We marched in honor of the countless black lives lost to racial violence; to oppose the institutional racism and systemic bias against marginilized communities; to show our love for, and solidarity with, our family members, colleagues and friends of color; because we are angry and appalled by the shocking indifference of our President; and to demand a better future for our children. ALL of our children,” he continued.
“It is not enough to be opposed to racism. We must be actively opposed to it.”
The former Friends star rarely discusses his daughter but in January 2018, he told the US Today show the important body autonomy lesson he’s teaching his daughter.
“With my daughter, it’s more about just knowing it’s your body and your space. It’s more about personal space and building confidence in her to speak out and speak up if anything she encounters makes her feel uncomfortable, period,” he said.
“Her body, her hair, it’s hers. She owns it. It’s giving her the courage and confidence to speak up and speak out.”

David went on to discuss the importance of instilling confidence in children.
“At school on Friday, some boys behind her, some older boys, were kind of touching and kicking her back a little. She turned around and gave them a look,” he continued. “I said, ‘Next time, Cleo, you need to turn around and firmly but politely say to please stop touching me. If you do that twice and they keep on touching you, you stand up, walk away and find a grownup, period.’ It’s important to instill that kind of confidence from an early age.”
“There should be, in my view, no shame about her body and about being in her body and understanding how her body works,” he said.
