The best early Black Friday toy sales to shop now
Get Christmas presents early and save big!
If you’re a fan of the festive season, you’re probably already counting down to Christmas. But we’re even closer to Black Friday – the biggest sale of the year, when you can get big savings on just about everything, including toys for all ages.
Held at the end of November (but often starting earlier), Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become the perfect time to get ahead on Christmas present shopping without blowing the budget.
In fact, the Monash University Christmas and Seasonal Retail Trends Report for 2024 found that sales and other promotions were influencing some people to start shopping earlier for Christmas. And, just like planning for Christmas makes things run smoother on the day, planning for Black Friday and Cyber Monday can help you get what you want at a great price.
So, here’s what to know about it, plus the toys we’re expecting and hoping will go on sale (based on years of following these deals).
When is Black Friday 2025?
Black Friday is officially on Friday November 28 this year and is followed by Cyber Monday on December 1. But we have already spotted some retailers getting ready with dedicated Black Friday pages, including Target, Lego, Myer and Big W.
Last year, we also saw Black Friday sales start much earlier in November, and run through the first week of December (and even a bit beyond).
So, if you want to get the best toys on sale, now is a great time to start checking for deals and prepping your Black Friday (and Christmas gift) wish list. For some inspiration, we’ve found some of the best early deals to shop ahead of Black Friday 2025.

What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is an annual shopping event known for its hugely discounted sales and doorbuster deals offered by a wide rang of retailers, and marks the start of the holiday shopping season.
Shoppers flock to stores to take advantage of these promotions, often leading to long lines and crowded shopping centres – which is why online shopping is the preferred choice of many.
What is Cyber Monday?
While Black Friday includes brick-and-mortar stores as well as online retailers, Cyber Monday – the first Monday after the American Thanksgiving holiday – usually just includes the latter in the mega-sale. Go figure.
Is there Black Friday in Australia?
Black Friday is now one of the biggest sales events of the year in Australia, even though it is still relatively new here. It first became popular among retailers and shoppers in the early to mid 2010s and as more shoppers and retailers have come on board, it’s grown in scale.
“Black Friday is a favourite among savvy Aussie shoppers who are eager to seize superior deals and start their Christmas shopping early,” Stephanie Atto, the research and strategy director at Monash Business School’s Australian Consumer and Retail Studies, said when the Christmas and Seasonal Retail Trends Report was released in 2024.
Is Click Frenzy or Black Friday better?
While both sales’ events offer great deals, Black Friday typically provides more discounts, often with a wider range of products. Its proximity to Christmas makes it advantageous for holiday shopping, offering ample opportunities to save on gifts and essentials.
