Fans of the hit Aussie animation, Bluey can now order commemorative themed birth certificates ... but there IS a catch.

Bluey, the clever animation that has gained fans worldwide, which follows a cheeky Blue Heeler puppy and her family, has shone a light on life in Australia, particularly Queensland.

Set in the suburbs beyond the Brisbane city skyline and featuring streets lined with frangipani and jacaranda trees and Queenslander style homes with wraparound verandahs, Bluey showcases all that is great about the sunshine state.

And now Queenslanders get to celebrate Bluey in return, thanks to a series of Bluey commemorative birth certificates available right now.

Queensland parents can now order a ‘Bluey’ themed commemorative birth certificate for their children.

What are commemorative birth certificates?

Fans are given the choice of three certificates, which are printed on A4 sheets of paper to fit perfectly into a photo frame.

“Commemorative certificates are keepsakes and not official proof of identity documents,” the Queensland government website states.

“They can be purchased at any time, for people of any age who were born or adopted in Queensland.”

Featuring the beloved Blue Heeler family with settings including the beach, the city skyline, and the Bluey family home, these commemorative certificates are sure to be a hit in 2022.

Applicants must have been born or adopted in Queensland and their birth registered with the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

Bluey is produced by the Emmy® award-winning Ludo Studio for ABC KIDS and is co-commissioned by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios. Both series received production support from the Australian Government through Screen Australia, and Queensland Government through Screen Queensland.

A licensing deal between BBC Studios and the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, Queensland means that Queenslanders are the lucky Aussies who get to choose between the three gorgeous options on offer.
