URGENT SAFETY RECALL: Popular baby and toddler toy recalled due to choking hazard
The ACCC is urging parents and carers to immediately check for the popular toy, available at Target stores and online.
A shape sorting children’s toy has been recalled this week, due to the risk it poses as a choking hazard to young children.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued an urgent recall of the Early Learning Centre (ELC) Little Senses Lights & Sounds Shape Sorter toy on Wednesday.

ELC Little Senses Lights & Sounds Shape Sorter
Item Code 145795
A sensory shape sorter with six different coloured and textured shapes, for young children from 6 months to 36 months.
What are the defects?
The product’s red sorting cube, which has a clear top, may break, releasing a small ball.
The product may not comply with the size requirements of the mandatory standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.
What are the hazards?
If released the small ball may pose a choking hazard for young children, which can lead to severe injury or death.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should immediately remove the red cube from the product and safely dispose of this part only.
