“Not ur mama’s maternity bras …”

Proving, once again, that there is nothing she can not do, legendary Grammy-winning entrepreneur, Rihanna has taken maternity wear to the next level, adding breastfeeding-friendly upgrades to her lingerie label’s best-selling bralettes.

“The new maternity capsule is about bringing that confidence and comfort to moms at every stage of their journeys,” Rihanna said in a news release. “I want to remind people that you can still channel sexiness and feel-good while being a parent.”

And just like everything else the 35yo mum – who is expecting her second child with partner, rapper A$AP Rocky – touches in maternity fashion, it’s pushing the boundaries of the traditional aesthetic.

The star has taken Savage X Fenty’s most popular silhouettes – Savage X Cotton, Floral Lace and Savage Not Sorry – and given them the maternity treatment, allowing pregnant and nursing mums to do so with a little RiRi magic.

In addition to the three gorgeous bralettes, the capsule collection also features an oversized graphic tee emblazoned with “Make More Babies”.

The Barbados-born singer has ensured maximum comfort by designing the collection with practicality and functionality bookending her creative vision. The statement released assured that it is “still giving savage with a little extra support, so every mom can feel like their best selves — whether it’s at home, on the go (or) with or without baby in tow”.

Each bra has been created with the essential one-hand functionality multitasking parents need. Other breastfeeding-friendly upgrades include extra support, a full nursing sling, adjustable front-facing straps and super-soft cotton jersey fabric for mothers with sensitive nipples.

Looking good throughout pregnancy and beyond is an assignment understood by the Umbrella singer since day one. Since announcing her first pregnancy in 2022 the style maven was regularly snapped discarding traditional maternity fashion ideals, instead opting for cutouts, minis, heels and fashion that put her bare bump front and centre.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle.’ I’m sorry — it’s too much fun to get dressed up,” Rihanna told Vogue at the time. “I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”

The Super Bowl performer debuted her lingerie and loungewear line, Savage X Fenty, in May 2018, selling out within a month of launching.

“We want to make people look good and feel good,” Rihanna said. “We want you to feel sexy and have fun doing it.”
