Leah Itsines throws first birthday party after her daughter’s tough start to life

Leah Itsines and husband Mitch Caon welcomed their first child on March 7, 2022, but due to health complications baby Gigi remained in hospital for the first three weeks of her life.
Fast forward one year to March 2023 – through trips back to hospital because of COVID, Leah celebrated her 28th birthday, by becoming an aunt for the second time and then marrying Mitch.
Reaching the milestone first birthday for daughter, Gigi was the icing on the home cook’s health.

As well as being a busy mum of one, Leah runs her own businesses that include BARE guides, sleep T range Soli Sleep, and yespleasehealth, which includes natural health supplements.
Making time to celebrate the important first birthday milestone for her little girl, Gigi, Leah shared a sweet video of the colourful party and confessed that, as is typical, the guest of honour slept for most of it.
“Even though Gigi is still so little & literally slept 3 out of the 4 hours of the party (lol) I still wanted to celebrate her AND us as parents who got through the hardest year of our lives 💪🏼” wrote Leah.
As well as getting married, Leah and Mitch also celebrated the one-year anniversary of their business yespleasehealth, and they moved house and relocated their business. It’s tiring just thinking about it!
Leah also became an aunt for the second time when her sister Kayla Itsines, co-founder and trainer at Sweat, gave birth to her baby boy with fiancé Jae Woodroffe. In January 2023, Baby Jax made 4yo Arna a big sister.
“We’ve got so many kiddies in the family now so I wanted to do something that they would all enjoy and it was such a hit 🥺” Leah said of Gigi’s birthday party.
“What a weekend 😍 Now I need approx 27 days of sleep hahaha I’m EXHAUSTED”
Adding ‘mum’ to her long list of achievements, 28-year-old Leah shared the news of daughter Gigi Kayla Caon’s safe arrival on Instagram with gorgeous snaps of her beautiful little girl.
“Welcome to our world little one. Born 7:34am weighing 3.17kg and 48cm long. She’s so perfect and we feel a love beyond our wildest dreams.”
In 2019, fitness model and co-founder of Sweat, Kayla Itsines honoured her little sister Leah by naming her own daughter Arna Leia, and Leah has reciprocated!
Kayla was delighted by her namesake and posted ‘THAT’S MY BABY! I’m crying so much’ in the comments.
“I have 3 weeks left and I am just…. Amazed. Completely amazed at what my body has already gone through, and will go through in the weeks to come – it gives me a whole new level of appreciation”
Posting on her Instagram story on March 13, 2022, Leah showed that was she was heading to the hospital to feed Gigi and shared a picture that she captioned “What a little snack!!! I could eat you” with another caption next to the sweet infant’s bare feet, saying “I’m going to have to eat your feet!”
The self-taught cook and author of The Nourishing Cook (2018), is also co-owner of BARE digital food guides, which extended into BARE Pregnancy last year. She also owns cosy sleep and casual wear brand SoliSleep, with her then fiance.
