Who is Bluey’s baby daddy? Fans surprised by secret final episode
Is this the end of Bluey?
Bluey saved the biggest surprise for last when it dropped a secret bonus episode on Sunday, April 21. It came after fans believed season three wrapped with the extra-long episode, The Sign.
In the episode aptly named, Surprise we see Bingo and Bluey playing with their dad Bandit. The episode then skips years ahead into the future where we see a fully grown Bluey popping in to see her parents for a ‘surprise’ visit at their Queenslander home, which was almost sold in The Sign.
“Can you believe your dad almost sold it?” Chili says, referring to the events of The Sign, before mentioning that Bingo is outside. They make their way to the backyard just as the doorbell rings. Bandit answers the door and it’s reminiscent of an earlier scene where Bluey ambushed him while playing Surprise. At first it looks like no one is at the door but we see a young puppy hiding behind it with a ball bluster. Is it Bluey’s child? Fans think so!
Who did Bluey have a baby with?
After the episode aired, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the ending, with many convinced the puppy belongs to Bluey and that Mackenzie could be the father.
“I truly think it’s Bluey and McKenzie’s child because they even joked about Bluey marrying McKenzie,” one fan wrote.
“If it’s not Mackenzie I’d be sad,” commented another.
Added another: “Just by the ears I think the kid is Bluey and Mackenzie’s.”
“Hot take, but Mackenzie is very clearly the father of Bluey’s kid. I know lots of people want Jean Luc to be the dad, but the pup’s fluffier fur, markings, one floppy ear, and coloration all indicate a blue heeler/border collie mix,” theorised another fan.
However, other viewers were convinced the dad could be the Canadian labrador, Jean-Luc and some believed it was actually Bingo’s child.
“I’m convinced it’s Bingo’s kid,” wrote a fan. “Lighter tail tip like Bingo and Bingo was already at the house when Bluey showed up.”
“I think it’s Bingo’s kid,” another added. “Not Bluey’s. Chilli says Bingo is out back.”
The episode Surprise aired just a week after the family listed their house for sale in The Sign.
This sparked concern amongst parents and fans that the series might be coming to an end. However, Bluey producer Sam Moor reassured everyone that the show would be returning.
“It is the question on everybody’s lips. No, it is not the end for Bluey,’ she told BBC radio 4 last week.
“I’m sure we have many more surprises in store for you,” she added. “We have more in store and we are thinking what would be next.”
