Barry Hall’s wife Lauren Brant gave birth in hospital reception
"It was a crazy story!"
Who’d have thought that Hi-5’s Lauren Brant would fall in love with AFL legend Barry Hall on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here? But in 2015, in the South African jungle, the magic happened.
Seven years on, they are married and have three edible sons – Miller, four, Houston, two and Samson, four months. Barry was at the births of their first two sons but, because of COVID restrictions, when Lauren went into labour with their third baby the footy player had to leave his wife at the hospital door.
“I took her to the front door and said, “OK, this is handover…”
In a recent interview with The Daily Telegraph Barry revealed that just 40 minutes after her first contraction, the 33-year-old mum gave birth to Samson in the hospital reception.
“I took her to the front door and said, “OK, this is handover, it’s not really fair but I can’t go in,” but there are rules so we did that,” he said. “It was a crazy story.”
“Our beautiful baby boy arrived Earth Side 26/10/2021, at 6.18am as a perfect 3.535kg & 51cm bundle 🌻”
Joining his blonde-haired, blue-eyed brothers, Samson’s birth was announced on social media by both ecstatic parents.
Lauren posted this heart-warming post with a gorgeous image:

“Samson’s name has a deep meaning to our family,” said the proud dad.
The proud dad, who was filming SAS Australia towards the end of Lauren’s pregnancy, said “Time was ticking, [Lauren] was gonna go any day.” He was raced to the Queensland border, expecting to do a seven-day quarantine but got dispensation so was able to reduce the stay.
He posted on Instagram “He’s arrived. Samson Andy Hall. 26/10/2021. He is just perfect and his brothers love him so much.”
“Well a little too much they absolutely maul him with kisses and cuddles. Samson’s name has a deep meaning to our family.
“He will be aware of the meaning in good time and I’m sure honour the name and give us all such joy as he has already started doing.”
