Steph Claire Smith’s emotional plea for help dealing with her 2yo son’s screaming
“Our patience is truly being tested at the moment”
Parenthood is a rollercoaster of emotions. For all the heart-melting moments, there are plenty of challenges too.
Sharing the realities of mum life with a toddler to her 1.5 million Instagram followers, fitness influencer, Steph Claire Smith opened up in a raw and emotional post on Wednesday.
The 29yo podcaster and co-founder of fitness program, Kic.app took to Instagram Stories to say that she was desperate for some practical advice on how to soothe her 2yo son, Harvey who has been having way too many screaming tantrums and meltdowns.
“Our patience is truly being tested at the moment and Josh and I would love to align on a way of dealing with Harvey’s screaming,” she began.
“He’s become so stubborn, screaming when he wants something, it’s become non-stop all day and tantrums over nothing.”
Steph, who welcomed her first child in May 2021 with husband Josh Miller, continued: “We are just lost with what to do at this age. Please suggest books, podcasts or pages we can follow to learn more.”

Steph’s followers were quick to offer words of support and advice, with many relating to her post.
“Do what I didn’t and stay as calm as you can,” wrote one mum.
“We’re right there with you. It’s hard,” added another.
“Just keep showing up for him. Super tough & emotional but ‘this too shall pass’,” shared another follower.

Steph was incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and advice she received, writing, “Wow you guys. Just a reminder that there are SO MANY PEOPLE going through the same struggles you are – also a reminder that there are many different ways to parent.”
She continued: “From your suggestions this is what I’m going to consume…”
