Ready, set ... grow!

2020 has been an exhausting, unpredictable and difficult. With the new year fast approaching, now is as good a time for mums to be and new mums to redirect their focus and give themselves some much needed love and attention.

Motivation guru and bestselling author of Mastering Your Mean Girl, Open Wide, and PurposeFULL Melissa Ambrosini is ready for a pretty incredible 2021, as she has just announced that she is expecting.

To make 2021 the best year yet for herself and for anyone else taking steps into the pregnancy journey, Melissa has provided her top 5 steps to silence inner critics and be better in 2021 below …

Set a Morning Routine

“I strongly believe in the power of setting a healthy and inspiring morning routine. Taking time in the morning before you start your day, will set you up for success and productivity.

“A morning routine could involve exercise, yoga, meditation, swimming in the ocean, going for a walk, reading, journaling and having a nourishing breakfast. Having an efficacious and healthy start to your day, sets you on your way to achieve your goals.”

Enhance your Water

“Did you know that we are 75 percent water? And one of the simplest things we can do to help our body, mind and soul is ensuring we’re getting enough clean water every day.

“Starting your day with a large glass of room temperature water can help boost your mood, increase your energy levels, and cleanse and revitalise your organs. It sounds simple, but it makes such a massive difference in your health and happiness.”

Make Failure your Friend

“It can sometimes feel challenging to accept when something has turned out how you planned, but being able to take these opportunities and see them in a positive light, can change your perspective.

“This year many people have not been able to achieve the goals they set, and some feel like they’re stuck in the same place. These more challenging times can be seen as a necessary stepping stone on the road to success, and moving into 2021, it will benefit you in all areas of your life to learn how to change your perspective.”

Embrace Uncertainty

“This year we have learnt that we really can’t predict what’s going to happen next. Being able to not only acknowledge uncertainty, but embrace it is a practice.

“Recognising that discomfort is key to growth, letting go of control and overcoming the fear of the unknown, are lessons once mastered, can change how you approach and live your life for the better.

Choose You

“It’s SO important to put yourself high on your list of priorities. You are allowed to put yourself first and choose your own happiness. If you are not healthy and happy, how are you going to show up as the best version of yourself for those you love?

“You don’t have to people please and put everyone else before you. You must put on your own air mask before you help the person next to you. And remember you are worthy of giving yourself love and filling yourself up.”
