Laura Byrne and Matty J reveal the sweet name of their baby girl
The Bachelor favourites are preparing to welcome baby number three – and now we know her name.
Laura Byrne and Matty J have finally revealed the name of their third baby – and it’s absolutely adorable.
The Bachelor alumni, who are expecting their third daughter in October, shared the name during a new interview on Stellar’s Something To Talk About podcast.
“We are absolutely excited and we cannot wait to meet this little girl, Poppy,” Matty, 37 said.

If you’ve ever tried to keep a baby name under wraps, you’ll feel Laura Byrne’s pain.
The name Poppy may already have slipped out thanks to Matty J’s Two Doting Dads podcast, although he’s sticking to the story that it wasn’t intentional.
Laura, 39 only found out when a follower asked her during an Instagram Q&A: “Did you punch Matt in the ovaries for revealing [your] baby name on Two Doting Dads?”
Laura’s reaction? “He did f***ing what?!”
Later that night, the couple filmed themselves in bed as Laura questioned Matty about it: “Did you say the girl’s name, the baby’s name, on the podcast?”
Matty denied it with mock innocence, but both ended up laughing as Laura cheekily suggested he may have let it slip.
Laura turned to the camera to reflect on the moment: “People always ask us, ‘how do you know the limits when you’re telling stories and stuff on the podcast?’ and normally we’re pretty good… Normally.”
Matty chimed in, trying (and failing) to look innocent: “Whoever is spreading this false information, shame on you, because that’s not true at all.”
While fans are convinced the name was mentioned, it seems any baby-name bombshell has since been scrubbed from the episode.
Baby number three and feeling relaxed
The couple, who met filming the fifth season of The Bachelor Australia in 2017, and wed in 2022, already share daughters Marlie who is almost six, and Lola, four, say the reaction to baby number three has been very different.
“It is different with number three,” Matty said on the podcast, explaining how people have responded with surprise, and even concern, rather than congratulations.
Still, despite the chaos of parenting three under six, Laura says she’s feeling calm and confident: “I feel the most relaxed about this one.”
Laura first shared their pregnancy news in April on her Life Uncut podcast with Brittany Hockley. “It turns out, we’re having baby number three! I’m pregnant guys!” she said.
She went on to explain she was 18 weeks pregnant at the time and found out early on – not because of symptoms, but thanks to a friend’s comment.
“It is a Christmas miracle. We had a really small window. I have known for a very long time. I found out very early on in this pregnancy, not because I had any symptoms but because my friend made a comment that made me do a pregnancy test.”
Matty was overseas filming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! at the time, and Laura waited over two months to share the news with him.
“I took a pregnancy test while Matty was filming… but did not tell him the news until she was two and a half months pregnant.”
