Purple Wiggle John Pearce may have joined The Wiggles in 2021 but his fame reached new heights thanks to his TikTok videos that are being described by fans as ‘thirst traps’.
John, 33, first caught our attention back in 2010 as a member of the all-male group, Justice Crew who won Australia’s Got Talent. The group released a string of hit songs like Boom Boom and Que Sera, earning them eight ARIA Award nominations.
John also has a twin brother, Lenny, who was in the band too.
In 2021 The Wiggles expanded from four to eight members to improve diversity and gender equality and Filipino-Australian, John was cast. Known to viewers as the second Purple Wiggle, ‘Big Strong John’ loves fitness and can be seen lifting weights and exercising while he’s singing along with the group.
Since then, John has gone viral on TikTok (@johnadamopearce) quite a few times with his grown-up audience in Australia and America praising him for being, well, very hot, and catapulting him into global heartthrob status.
The Purple Wiggle is known as ‘Big Strong John’ for his love of fitness.
John Pearce spoke to Access Hollywood about being dubbed the ‘hot Wiggle’ saying, “Who would’ve thought those two words would be in the same sentence? It’s an overwhelming and positive response especially to the TikTok’s I’ve posted online and the comments say it all,” laughs John.
“That was never my intention when I was making those videos. It was all about good fun and having a bit of a laugh. It’s definitely got the attention of a lot of parents around the world.”
John has proved popular on socials by introducing his Filipina mum to his adoring fans.
