Former Bachelor star Alex Nation’s powerful response to “your postpartum body isn’t real” nasty comments
"My body is STILL healing. I bleed almost every day."
Bachelor In Paradise alum and mum-of-two, Alex Nation has penned a powerful and personal essay summing up the disappointment she feels after receiving several negative and nasty comments about her postpartum body.
The 29-year-old who welcomed son Maxwell with fiancé Carson Jory in August last year, took to Instagram to say how she can’t believe that in 2022 women are “still picking apart each other’s appearances”.
Alex titled her post, “You postpartum body isn’t real” and then wrote:
“I don’t usually let comments from strangers bother me but… I’m a little bothered. The amount of negative/nasty comments and private messages that I have received about my body is disappointing. I’m not mad, I’m not hurt.
“I’m disappointed that in 2022 women are still picking apart each other’s appearances. Still shaming each other for being too thin, too fat, too muscly, too curvy.”

The former Bachelor star continued on, reiterating the point that her postpartum body is very much real.
“I carried my son for 9 months. I experienced significant change, mentally and physically. I gave birth,” she says.
“My body is STILL healing. I bleed almost every day. I have significant rectal/ bowel function issues. I see a pelvic floor physiotherapist. It hurts to have sex with my partner. This is my body, my postpartum body.”
Alex says the “amount of negative/nasty comments and private messages that I have received about my body is disappointing”.
Alex’s personal post resonated with many of her followers, with the comments section quickly filling up with words of support.
“Cannot believe people still to this day think there are “real bodies” and “unreal bodies”. We are all real bodies, we all have our unique struggles,” wrote a follower.
Another added: “Well said, Alex. ✨ Everyone’s journey is different, that doesn’t make it right or wrong. Just different. Women’s bodies are strong, beautiful, magnificent and diverse. We should celebrate ourselves and each other. 🤍 Much love to you, mama xx”
