Harry Potter star Jessie Cave confirms her baby has tested positive to COVID-19

The actress played Lavender Brown in the hit movies.

Jessie Cave who is best known for playing Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter movies has confirmed her youngest of three children has coronavirus.

Taking to Instagram to announce the news, Jessie explains that her 11-week-old son has been hospitalized for COVID-19.

The 33-year-old’s post comes as British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the UK will enter a third lockdown as a new strain of COVID-19 spreads across the country.

“I watched the news about lockdown from an isolated room in hospital. Poor baby is covid positive,” Jessie captioned an image of her baby in a hospital bed and a laptop streaming the Prime Minister’s speech.

“He’s okay and doing well but they are being vigilant and cautious, thankfully. This strain is super powerful and contagious so I do hope that people take extra care in the coming weeks.”

The Harry Potter star has confirmed her 11-wee-old son is battling COVID-19.

Jessie went on to thank the healthcare heroes who are caring for her son while he battles COVID.

“He’s okay and doing well but they are being vigilant and cautious, thankfully. This strain is super powerful and contagious so I do hope that people take extra care in the coming weeks,” she wrote.

The actress and comedian played Hogwarts student Lavender Brown in the final three film adaptations of J. K. Rowling’s books and more recently appeared in the television series, Trollied.

Jessie welcomed her third child in October, and shared to her followers that the birth was “extreme” and her son entered the neonatal unit following his traumatic arrival.

“Our baby boy was born in the early hours yesterday morning just 40 mins after my waters were broken,” she shared at the time.

“Slightly extreme but so were his kicks throughout the pregnancy! This has been a very different experience to my first two births … much more humbling, terrifying and out of my control.

“We are currently in the neo natal unit but he’s a strong boy and it’s the safest place for him right now.”

In her most recent post annoucing her son has COVID, Jessie wrote,  “Really didn’t want this to be the start of my families new year. Really didn’t want to be back in a hospital so soon after his traumatic birth,” she wrote.

Jessie and her partner, comedian Alfie Brown, are also parents to Donnie, five, and Margot, three.

They had originally named their baby boy Abraham “Bam” Benjamin but announced in December they had changed his name to Tenn.
