Bluey Duck Cake Café pops up in Sydney – and it’s free!

Calling all little bakers and big Bluey fans! The Bluey Duck Cake Café is landing in Sydney for one weekend only, bringing a slice of Heeler family fun to life.

Families can step inside a real-life version of the Heeler kitchen and decorate their very own mini Duck Cake – inspired by the iconic Bluey episode where Bandit takes on the famous Rubber Ducky Cake from The Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book.

Created by BBC Studios, this pop-up café experience invites families to explore the Heeler home or wander through Bluey’s backyard. Each child will get to decorate their own ‘Duckling’ cake pop – a bite-sized version of the beloved Duck Cake that’s been a favourite since it first appeared in The Weekly’s cake book back in 1980.

The café is also part of a bigger celebration – the 45th anniversary of The Australian Women’s Weekly Children’s Birthday Cake Book.. To mark the milestone, the Royal Australian Mint even released special birthday-cake-themed coins, featuring the famous Duck Cake on a $1 coin.

And it’s not all about cake! Little ones (and parents too) can meet Bluey and Bingo in person for the ultimate photo-worthy moment.
