Bluey Book Reads returns with star-studded cast for season two

The second season of Bluey Book Reads launches this month featuring an impressive lineup of narrators that will delight Australian families and showcase the global appeal of the homegrown animation phenomenon.

In an exciting first for the series, Sesame Street characters Elmo and Cookie Monster kick off the season reading “What Games Should We Play?” – creating a charming crossover between two beloved children’s franchises. The Muppet duo receives a special package from Brisbane, introducing young viewers to Bluey and Bingo’s favourite games.

Australian talent features prominently in the new season, with Rose Byrne (who voices Bluey’s aunt Brandy) delivering a heartfelt reading of fan-favourite “Baby Race.” Paralympics gold medallist Kurt Fearnley brings his engaging energy to “Camping,” while musician Meg Washington, already familiar as the voice of Calypso, lends her talents to “Bob Bilby.”

The international roster includes Helena Bonham Carter reading “Queens,” Elijah Wood narrating “The Pool,” Sophie Okonedo bringing her soothing tones to “Sleepytime,” and Michael Sheen taking on “Road Trip” – reflecting Bluey’s remarkable worldwide popularity.

The series has expanded globally with localised versions in Germany, France, and Korea, cementing the Queensland-created show’s status as Australia’s most successful children’s export while maintaining its distinctly Aussie charm.

For parents who’ve made Bluey a household staple, this new season offers another way to enjoy the series’ warmth and valuable life lessons with their children. New episodes will release fortnightly from April through August 2025, beginning with the Elmo and Cookie Monster episode available now.
