All of the single parents who’ve bid for love on the Bachelor and Bachelorette
And a whole bunch of them won!
Since Tim Robards first graced our screens in 2013 as a hunky single bachelor looking for the love, the Bachelor and Bachelorette franchise, and the thirsty Bachelor in Paradise spin-off have been essential viewing in households all over Australia.
We’ve watched love blossom, and we’ve watched love bomb but most of all we’ve watched limousines pull-up in mansion driveways as we get excited to see what hapless souls will put their heart on the line for love as they prepare to simultaneously date one person alongside 25 or so of their new, competitive flatmates.
While all walks of life (and all sorts of sanity levels) make their play, there is a soft spot in our hearts for the single parents who are looking for someone to love them and their children.
From Snezana, to Alex Nation and dad-of-four Stu Laundy we’ve even seen some of them take the crown!
Now we’ve taken a trip back through time to see some of our favourite Bachelor contestants with kids who have played it all on the line for love and family in the gallery below.

2020: Elly and Becky Miles Season
Single dad Harry Harris says he’s on the show to find the love of his life and adds that love is “the most amazing thing.”
It’s not his first time on our screen either. Australia first met Harry on season five of House Rules.
The then 32-year-old competed on the show with his ex-partner Kate Whiting, who he shares his five-year-old son Xavier with.
When not on site, the builder likes to unwind by sitting around a campfire at his family’s farm with a good bottle of wine.
Judging by Becky’s reaction when they met on the red carpet, it’s likely Sam will receive a rose straight-up. He admitted he made her “feel comfortable” and got her a little hot under the collar.
2020: Lochy Gilbert Season
Georgie: Georgie is a Project manager from Tasmania and a single mum of two and she’s the latest single parent looking for love!
2019: Angie Kent Season
Freediving Instructor, Adam was a single father of two children who was hoping to meet someone who loves his children as much as they love him.
Unfortunately Angie Kent was not the one.
2019: Matt Agnew Season
Brazilian single mum of one, Mary was hoping her Chef work would help her win Matt’s heart through his stomach.
Sadly this was not the case, but Mary did go on to find love with Real Estate Agent, Connor on 2020’s season of Bachelor in Paradise.
2018: Ali Oetjen Season
Retreat Director Damien was a divorced single dad of one when he tried his luck looking for love with Ali.
Sadly it was not the way his story ended.
2018: Nick Cummins Season
Mother-of-one Dasha looked like a firm favourite for a while there, but just like every single other contestant on Nick’s season, she was not the one.
2018: Nick Cummins Season
Property Consultant, Ashleigh was optimistic when she looked for a partner to love and accept both her and her son with Nick Cummins, the famous Bachelor who chose nobody in the end.
2017: Sophie Monk Season
Businessman Stu Laundy – a divorced father-of-four swooped in as an intruder and swept Sophie off her feet.
It was a huge shock, when Sophie who dreamed of motherhood, chose Stu who was the proud owner of a vasectomy as her eventual winner.
2016: Richie Strahan Season
Single mum of one Alex Nation was a front-runner for Richie’s heart from the get-go. A chocolate bath sealed the deal and she was crowned the winner.
The pair eventually split and offered fans an awkward and dramatic reunion when they both appeared as contestants on the same season of Bachelor in Paradise, where their relationship problems were aired for all to see.
2015: Sam Woods Season
Sparks flew the moment Snezana made her entrance.
At the time, when talking about her reasons for joining the bid for Sam’s love, Snez said: “My daughter, sister and friends thought it would be a good idea for me to get out there and start dating. They are sick of me being single. I think they just want to get rid of me.”
Sam fell hard for the clever beauty and they’ve gone on to marry and have two kids of their own to add to their growing brood.
