Top laundry tips from Mums Who Clean

  • Protect delicate fabrics: Some winter garments require extra care. To protect your delicate garments during washing, turn them inside out before washing, use a gentle cycle or hand- wash setting and opt for mild detergents specifically designed for delicate items.
  • Take care of winter accessories: Winter accessories like gloves, hats, and scarves can get easily misplaced or damaged in the laundry. Place these items in a mesh laundry bag before washing. to prevent them from tangling or getting lost. Additionally, avoid using fabric softeners on items like gloves or hats, as they can reduce their ability to insulate and keep you warm.

  • Avoid using too much detergent: One of the biggest errors can be using too much detergent. Overuse of detergent can create too many suds that they trap soil allowing it to redeposit on clothes. Try using less and see the results.
  • Treat stains straight away: The key to successful stain removal is to act quickly. As soon as possible after you get a stain rinse or soak the stain in cool water, apply a stain remover, and throw it into the washing machine. You can use OMO liquid as a stain remover, pour a drop on tough stains. Gently rub into stain and then wash. If the stain doesn’t come out, don’t dry the garment. Use stain remover and rewash.
  • Reduce fading on garments: Clothes are expensive, and fading can cause them to look old and worn out very quickly. By turning dark-coloured clothes inside out before washing you can help prevent colour fade. Invest in your clothing items by using OMO 3 in 1 capsules with fabric care technology that prevents pills from forming to fight dullness and keep colours bright. And remember to dry colours and blacks away from direct sunlight.
