Christina Ricci shares a bed with her 8yo son while her baby girl sleeps in a cot
"I can put her down in her crib and she just goes to sleep"
Christina Ricci has shared an insight into her parenting style with nine-month-old daughter Cleopatra and eight-year-old son Freddie.
On the topic of sleep, which is close to the heart of many parents, Christina explains the big difference between her two children.
The 42-year-old actress says her eight-year-old still shares a bed with her, while her baby girl is already sleep trained and happily settles in her cot.
“The fact that I can put her down in her crib and she just goes to sleep when my eight-year-old still sleeps with me is amazing,’ says The Addams Family star.
Christina says when she attempted to sleep train her son eight years ago that it was a very different experience.
“He screamed himself hoarse and started banging his head against the crib railing,” she recalled.

When it came to sleep-training her daughter, Christina says it was a very straight-forward process.
“With Cleo, when we decided to try it and see how she would react to it, she just sort of whined for about seven minutes and then laid down, clutched her little unicorn and went to sleep,” the Emmy nominee shares. “It was like she was ready and she wanted to do it, and it was right for her.”

The Sleepy Hollow actress shares son Freddie with her ex-husband James Heerdegen. She welcomed her daughter Cleopatra with her husband Mark Hampton in December, 2021.
Christina Ricci is not the only celebrity who has spoken out about letting their kids sleep with them.
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard previously revealed that their daughters, Lincoln, 9, and Delta, 7, used to sleep on a “trifold mattress” on the floor of their bedroom. In July, 2022, Kristen shared the girls have “graduated” into their own reoom.
“Congratulate me. We did it,” she joked at the time. “They now sleep in their room on beds right next to each other and they cuddle with each other instead of us.”
Clueless star Alicia Silverstone who follows attachment-style parenting, said in July 2022 that she and her 11-year-old son, Bear, still sleep together.
The actress, who shares Bear with ex-husband Christopher Jarecki, joked on The Ellen Fisher podcast that she would “get in trouble for” her comment.
“I don’t really care,” the 45-year-old said to possible critics.
