99.5% hair pick-up rate on carpet? Yes please!

I was recently invited to check out the latest offerings from Roborock, the world-renowned experts in advanced robot vacuums, in an exclusive hands-on reveal.

And boy, is there some exciting things happening in the world of floor cleaning! From promises to deal with pet hair, to technology that easily gets to every nook and cranny of your home without you lifting a finger and a robot vacuum that lets you talk to your pets when you are not at home!

Read on for more on how Roborock is changing the game and taking all the problems out of floor care for busy families.

The 2024 releases are a pivotal moment for Roborock, as they push the boundaries of home robotics, showcasing a dedication to enhancing our homes with the smartest, most efficient, and user-friendly lifestyle tech solutions.

Let’s review Roborock’s latest offerings

After getting a chance to get hands on and try out the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra and the Roborock Flexi Lite Wet and Dry Floor Vacuum here’s what I thought.

Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra

First things first it looks good! Nobody wants an eyesore in the corner, and it’s clear that Roborock have really thought about style and modern living when it comes to design.

After having a few robot vacuum failures over the years – it has been challenging to find one clever enough to negotiate the drop into our stairwell without launching itself off or sending us crazy with alerts – I was keen to see how the sensors and navigation on this new tech worked.

Roborock’s Reactive AI 2.0 Obstacle Recognition technology can recognise and differentiate between floor and room types, accurately identifying 73 obstacles to navigate, including floor mirrors and pet supplies and yes, even stairwells. This is a fantastic feature for families who can rest assured that any toys and kid paraphernalia is not going to get in the way of the robot-vac doing its job and keeping your floors clean.

It’s also handy to know pet droppings being smeared from one end of your home to the other are now a thing of the past. Ew!

What else I loved about the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra

  • It’s quiet! So quiet.
  • The software is equipped with the automatic pet recognition for pet safety and the camera and microphone provide a unique way to interact and communicate with your pet with a video camera that you can remotely access! So cute.
  • The warranty covers 24 months from the date of purchase offering peace of mind.
  • The self-emptying for the dustbin, self-refilling of the water tank, self-cleaning for the dock base, and self-drying heated air for drying the mop and dock base means more work for the robot and less work for us! Hooray. Plus it’s super sanitary which is a win.
  • The FlexiArm Design™ Side Brush means no corner or under-furniture space is left untouched and the Extra Edge Mopping System tackles dirt along baseboards and in every conceivable nook.
  • With four kids and a border collie, the 99.5% hair pick-up rate on carpet is a dream.

Roborock Flexi Lite Wet and Dry Floor Vacuum

This handy, lightweight unit is so easy to use. No heavy lugging from room to room here. Plus Roborock’s FlatReach™ technology really does offer thorough cleaning under furniture with gaps as low as 15cm. No more awkward dust and dirt under the buffet and beds.

From dust to spills everything is covered here in just one stroke. Mother-in-law at the front door? You really can clean in minutes. Winning!

What else I loved about the Roborock Flexi Lite Wet and Dry Floor Vacuum:

  • Roborock are masters at giving users self-cleaning products and the Flexi Lite is no exception. It self-cleans with a roller scrape and water spray module as well as hot air self-drying feature that means it’s cleaner AND your floors are cleaner. No icky mop smells here.
  • When they say it easily reaches edges and corners, they mean it – the side margin is less than 1mm, you won’t get closer than that unless you get down and do it yourself. No thank you.
  • The LED screen and alerts are fantastic, you know exactly what’s going on with real-time updates and operational reminder voice alerts.
